The musician Ivan Melo, Brazilian who lives in London, has recently released his first album named “Caboclo”. He published an old picture to remember the day he went to pick his guitar up at Lineu Bravo’s workshop, in 2016.

Ivan left a testimonial about his instrument made by the luthier from Taubaté: “To be honest, I’ve never thought I could own a Lineu Bravo guitar. He made the instruments for great Brazilian artists such as Guinga, Marcus Tardelli and Yamandu Costa. When we talked, I felt like we were old friends. Despite the long waiting list, he made my guitar in record time.”

About Ivan Melo

The guitarist Ivan Melo was born in Brazil and, since 2011 he’s lived in London, where he’s already performed in great places like QueenElizabeth Hall and Richmond Theatre. He has already played in partnership with Iron Maiden and the Grammy winner Snarky Puppy. Nowadays, he teaches guitar lessons and plays at solo performances and with the group Hans Prya. Ivan plays a 7-string guitar made by the luthier Lineu Bravo in 2016.

Maurício Marques and Lineu Bravo Guitar

The musician Mauricio Marques is a composer, music teacher, arranger and was a member of a Brazilian music group called “Quarteto Maogani”. He also performs in the music scene of Rio Grande do Sul. Nowadays, he composes on an 8-string guitar and performs in group and solo.

In the video above, Mauricio plays a song called “”Conversa de Botequim”, by Noel Rosa and Vadico, with a Lineu Bravo guitar!

Mauricio Marques career

Mauricio Marques is a composer, music teacher and arranger, focused on Brazilian music.
He is a winner of several music prizes and took part in a group called “Quarteto Maogani” between the years 2005 and 2013. He performs in the music scene of Rio Grande do Sul in partnership with Renato Borghetti, Luiz Carlos Borges and Celau Moreyra. He is an 8-string guitar expert.
Mauricio performs in group and solo, and his background is Brazilian music, with a lot of technique and great arrangements.

Musician Glauber Seixas, who was born in Ourinhos, São Paulo, started playing the guitar at the age of 13. He is a guitarist and composer and also plays piano and sax.

In 2002, he studied guitar at a Music Festival in Ourinhos and in 2007 he moved to Rio de Janeiro, to study at a school called EPM, where he had Mauricio Carrilho as a guitar teacher.

He has already worked as a guitar instructor at EPM and nowadays he teaches guitar at a workshop.

n his career he played in partnership with a lot of artists, such as: Joel Nascimento, Maurício Carrilho, Paulo Aragão, Zé Menezes, Maria Bethânia,Teca Calazans and Amélia Rabello.

He is a member of a group called “Regional Carioca” with Rafael Mallmith, Ana Rabello, Marcus Thadeu and Tiago Souza. They released an album called “Regional Carioca Volume II” in 2010.

In 2011, with the group Camerata Brasilis (alongside with Pedro Aune, Maria Souto, Luís Barcellos, Aline Gonçalves, Vítor Macedo, Marcos Tannuri, João Gabriel Souto and Gabriel Leite) he released an album as a guitarist.

Glauber Seixas ordered his 7-string Lineu Bravo guitar in 2009. The luthier left a testimonial about his client: “Another great musician that I am very honoured to make a guitar for. It is very rewarding to have a guitar in good hands.”

The musician from Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Jorge, is a guitarist, composer, singer, arranger and producer and collects a 35-year-long career. He was featured in a Brazilian Newspaper named “GGN” to talk about his new album. He has been in the project, with 15 tracks, for a long time and it was inspired in his childhood musical memories: a lot of samba and ‘bossa nova’ with jazz influences.

The album is called “Samba jazz, de raiz” and it took 3 years to be recorded. The new project contains 15 tracks: “The melody of the songs is similar to the samba from Rio de Janeiro, but I gave it a ‘jazz treatment’. It is an album in which the songs are more important than the arrangements”.

The luthier Lineu Bravo made him an instrument in 2013: a 6-string guitar with Canadian cedar top, Indian Jacaranda Back and ebony elevated fingerboard.
