Musician Glauber Seixas, who was born in Ourinhos, São Paulo, started playing the guitar at the age of 13. He is a guitarist and composer and also plays piano and sax.

In 2002, he studied guitar at a Music Festival in Ourinhos and in 2007 he moved to Rio de Janeiro, to study at a school called EPM, where he had Mauricio Carrilho as a guitar teacher.

He has already worked as a guitar instructor at EPM and nowadays he teaches guitar at a workshop.

n his career he played in partnership with a lot of artists, such as: Joel Nascimento, Maurício Carrilho, Paulo Aragão, Zé Menezes, Maria Bethânia,Teca Calazans and Amélia Rabello.

He is a member of a group called “Regional Carioca” with Rafael Mallmith, Ana Rabello, Marcus Thadeu and Tiago Souza. They released an album called “Regional Carioca Volume II” in 2010.

In 2011, with the group Camerata Brasilis (alongside with Pedro Aune, Maria Souto, Luís Barcellos, Aline Gonçalves, Vítor Macedo, Marcos Tannuri, João Gabriel Souto and Gabriel Leite) he released an album as a guitarist.

Glauber Seixas ordered his 7-string Lineu Bravo guitar in 2009. The luthier left a testimonial about his client: “Another great musician that I am very honoured to make a guitar for. It is very rewarding to have a guitar in good hands.”

The musician from Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Jorge, is a guitarist, composer, singer, arranger and producer and collects a 35-year-long career. He was featured in a Brazilian Newspaper named “GGN” to talk about his new album. He has been in the project, with 15 tracks, for a long time and it was inspired in his childhood musical memories: a lot of samba and ‘bossa nova’ with jazz influences.

The album is called “Samba jazz, de raiz” and it took 3 years to be recorded. The new project contains 15 tracks: “The melody of the songs is similar to the samba from Rio de Janeiro, but I gave it a ‘jazz treatment’. It is an album in which the songs are more important than the arrangements”.

Cláudio Jorge and the Lineu Bravo Guitar

The luthier Lineu Bravo made him an instrument in 2013: a 6-string guitar with Canadian cedar top, Indian Jacaranda Back and ebony elevated fingerboard.

Brazilian musician who was born in Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Jorge collects a 35- year-long career, which started when he was 20.

His compositions have been already recorded by many important Brazilian singers, such as: Emílio Santiago, Elymar Santos, Ângela Maria, Joana, Élson do Forrogode, Alaíde Costa, Zeca Pagodinho, Elza Soares, Roberto Ribeiro, Zezé Mota, Jorge Aragão, Martinho da Vila, Joel Nascimento, Sivuca, Luiz Carlos da Vila, and Arranco de Varsóvia.

He has also partnered up with important names, such as Cartola, João Nogueira, Aldir Blanc, Nei Lopes, Hermínio Bello de Carvalho, Ivan Wrigg, Ivor Lancellotti, Délcio Carvalho and Martinho da Vila. The partnership between the luthier and the great composer, guitarist and soloist Zé Paulo Becker arose in a meeting with friends in a bar in Rio de Janeiro in 2009.

On the occasion, there were great names of Brazilian music: Rogerinho Caetano, Yamandú Costa, Marcello Gonçalves, Marco Pereira and Luis Flávio Alcofra. Zepa, as he is affectionately known by his friends, challenged Lineu to make a powerful guitar. Since then, three guitars have already been born especially for Zé Paulo Becker: two 6-string guitars and a 7-string one.

Zé Paulo Becker Career

The musician Zé Paulo Becker has been performing with his quartet “Semente Choro Jazz” in Lapa, a neighbourhood in Rio de Janeiro, since 1998. The performance, which takes place every Monday, mingles Popular Brazilian Music classics, famous choros (A Brazilian popular music instrumental style) and Becker’s compositions, who has 10 recorded albums. The samba jam with its wide set list is vibrant and welcoming. Apart from the people who are there every week, the audience goes from Brazilians and foreign tourists to musicians and artists.

As a composer, Zé Paulo Becker has made important partnerships: Paulo César Pinheiro, Aldir Blanc, Roque Ferreira, Mauro Aguiar, Edu Krieger, Moyseis Marques, Tiago Torres da Silva, Pedro Luís, etc. His songs have been recorded by Ney Matogrosso, Roberta Sá, Marcos Sacramento, Mariana Baltar, Valéria Lobão, Isabel Padovani, Paula Santoro, Nicolas Krassik and the trio “Madeira Brasil”. The musician has already played with Ney Matogrosso, João Bosco, Marco Pereira, Paulo Moura. He has recently played with Chico Buarque and Milton Nascimento for an album of a Portuguese singer named Carmino.

During his career, he won remarkable prizes, such as the National Contest Villa-Lobos Guitar in 1990, and, in 2009, the III Instrumental Music Festival of Guarulhos. His album with the trio “Madeira Brasil” and Roberta de Sá was the winner in the Best Brazilian Popular Music Album category at the Brazilian Music Award in 2011.

Lineu Bravo prepares instrument special edition on his 50th year celebration

In 2001, Lineu Bravo started his career as a luthier. Since then, he has built a solid career, collecting many remarkable clients who have been delighted with his art. How many guitars and ‘cavaquinhos’ have already been born in his atelier?

This year, on March 28th, Lineu Bravo reaches the age of 50. And, to celebrate this date, the luthier who was born in Sorocaba and moved to Taubaté 7 years ago, has chosen to impress a mark in his art. At present, Lineu is preparing a special edition of his musical instruments.

The first of this special edition is already in progress and will belong to the great guitar player and composer Rogério Caetano, who names one of Lineu Bravo’s guitar: the Lineu Bravo 7-string guitar of Brazilian steel – Rogério Caetano design. It is worth remembering that the partnership has joined the talent of both in a search for an innovative instrument that could recover what had been lost in the past.

The special edition of instruments will be available for sale. Part of these instruments will have a singular mark: a personalized mother-of-pearl inscription stamped on the guitar head.
